Hi

My father-in-law has Win98SE but no internet access.

I wish to download the MS updates onto CD for him, especially as I know MS are not going to support Win98 after June.

The problem is I dont know how to specify a download location for Win updates.

Any help much appreciated.

TOPCAT

Thankyou very much.

Just a quick Q tho, will this site be updated for the few updates MS may do until June?

alstar, think about whether updates are actually needed; have a look at this thread.

this is from thread:

... the method mentioned..

the windows update site is ..click here

it should be on your 'start' button in the task bar.

I'm assuming you have a similiar un-updated Win CD or system, from which you can determine which updates you need,( ie same as your father-in-law has.)

You could always install BigFix (click here) which will list every update available and provide direct download links.

It will also update any other software updates you require from Microsoft etc.

A word of warning, the site TOPCAT® directed you to has not been updated since Jan 2001 (see botton of web page)There has been a few updates since then.

This is the official WindowsUpdate page:

If you go to:

you'll find Internet Explorer Critical Updates, whilst:
