win98 installatio

I hope someone can advise on my installation problem as I am really stuck. This message is from a friends pc. While doing a complete re-install of win98 you go through the scan part. I have an almost new second hd - "E" - which windows says has a corrupted file and insists on trying to fix it. It then does nothing so you start again and again and again and the same thing happens each time. I do have a few files on E hd but surely win98 installs on C hd.

Please Help

Use Fdisk to completely remove all partions and logical drives, re-create them and install again, or why not just remove the offending disk until you have Win 98 set up and running and then reconnect it and fdisk to create an extended dos partition and logical drives on it afterwards.

Good idea, about removing the second hd. I'll give it a try by just disconnecting the connections inside the pc.
