win95 installation

my sons computer crashed and he is trying to reinstall win 95.he has formatted his C driveand is trying to reinstall win 95 using the cd and floppy boot discs when he gives the command setup.exe nothing happens.he has tried using a win98 floppy boot disk to no avail where is he going wrong?

is he pointing to the cd i.e. "d" drive ?

brittas is saying that you need to point to the D:drive. At the A: prompt type D:\setup You may have to precede the setup with win95\ so that it will look like this D:\win95\setup

He should use the WIN98 start up disk to start PC with CD support or install Dos cd driver to get started.

The command setup is on the win95 disk so the start up command is d:\setup.
