WIN7 Need Admin authority put back for folders

Student accidentally removed Admin authority to some folders (Ex. Windows). How can I put this back? I am signed on as Admin still so I was trying to do before I get locked out. Thanks P Ward

Right click folder - properties - security tab - Edit to change permissions.

Not something that can be done accidently???

I am unable to reassign permissions back to Admin. since I don't have Admin authority. I have Admin Full auth at root C: level but it denies me the ability to edit/chg folder authority. I keep getting C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. Desktop does not exist anymore. When I search, nothing comes up. Recycle bin is damaged.

You could run cmd as administrator by right clicking it and then type in sfc /scannow and see if that finds any problems.

Maybe give Malwarebytes a run to see if it finds any problems just in case it is a virus you have.
