Win2k/XP slow boot after Real & Win Media Players

  TomJerry 13:31 04 May 04

I find that the boot time for Win2K and WinXP increased significantly after install Windows Media Player 9.0 and RealPlayer 10.0.

What these two guys put in the start process to make the machine slow. How can I solve this slow booting problem.

Of course, I can simply un-install them, but I need them to play media files and listen radios.

Any help will be appreciated.

It may be something to do with the way they relate to your DirectX. Is it v 9b and not 9a?

Do I need a new card all I need to go back to 9a?

Could be a related system file got corrupt and sfc may sort it out. If not RealPlayer may need re-installing.
