Win2K 'System32/Ntoskrnl.exe'

I appreciate I am being a bit vague but I saw the above as part of a message on a PC running Win2K.
I simply switched it off and back on again and it booted up OK but I am concerned it may collapse completely.
As a cure is it simply enough to copy this file from a good PC running Win2K onto the faulty one or is there more to it than that ?

The PC at issue is running Windows 2000 not NT. I logged on to Microsoft's KnowledgeBase page and got some useful tips.
Thanx for your help.
