I think this applies to w2k

If you RUN/ type regedit, click on edit/find, enter registeredowner, edit in right-hand pane. You can export registry 1st to back it up.

Get the keyfinder from Magical Jelly Beans. It shows your product key and allows you to change it. click here

Have downloaded it, option to change key is greyed out, am i not using it correctly?

  Cuddles 17:22 01 Mar 04

Tried it on a system running 98se, it lets you change code, does anyone know how to modify within regedit, there must be a way as i am sure i have done it in past on Windows 2000.

I think the thing i need is a key changer, anyone know where i can get one from?

5) I see the 'change key' option, but it's grayed out. Why?

The Keyfinder only supports changing the keys in Windows 95, 98, ME, and XP. Windows 2000, NT, and Server 2003 aren't supported.

Thanks Jester2k thought that was probably the case, do you know of any other ways of doing the deed or know where i can download a key changer from?

Why do you need one?

I have been given a computer that is running windows 2000 but the os was put on as an evaluation copy, i have a coa of my own so want to use it but do not particularly want to format and reinstall everything.
