Win XP user/password startup

hi all! right since a couple of weeks ago and after a few windows auto updates my pc when started would go direct to my desktop display. now it wants to ask me to type in my username and password beforehand which strangely are already showing in this window. as my pc has quite alot of stuff to set up when started it was convenient to leave it to set up and come back a minute or two later. but now i have to wait til this thing is "OK" ed before it sets up.cant seem to find any relevant options in "user accounts" either. any ideas? cheers

Start, Run, type in

control userpasswords2

and click OK.

On the Users tab, untick "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer".
