Hi everyone (thanks to those who helped with my DVD issue earlier)

I'm runing win XP sp2 on a Asus P4U800-x, with sound scheme problems. Media player and realplayer play back sound fine - any windows alerts fail and default to the PC system speaker "bleep"

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Christian

control panel - sounds and audio devices- audio tab default device - set to your card (AC97?)

AC97 isnt an option, not installed. Should have said also earlier that I have a SBLive! installed also.

Whats becoming strange on this matter is I've noticed the default login/shutdown events are now working. Anything do to with MSN and Outlook the sounds are failing...
