A friend has asked me about this problem, they installed WinXP Pro all worked fine, they then installed the latest updates now at shutdown you get as far as "it is now ............" then hangs there. They have to use the on off button to turn the system off. The information is sketchy I know. But perhaps somebody can offer me an answer.

Many be somebody can offer an answer to this question as well for another friend they have XP Home. They have just set their computer and they are trying to go on line the problem is that the dial up connection box dose not always pop up to connect you. I have given them a work around to the problem. Can anybody give me the fix for this?

Thanks in advance

You may find solution there. I think this could be a common problem because I heard a lot.
