Huawei P10 review
appolagies if this is a simple problem. jusr reinstalled win xp. can not get a conection to virgin cable broadband. pluged in thr network cable but it wont see it. how do i configure it?
thank you in advace for help.
I assume you're connecting the PC directly to the Cable Modem, i.e. not using a Router?
Having reinstalled XP, did you also reinstall the drivers for the Network Card, which gives you an entry in the Network Connections folder for a "Local Area Connection"?
If this is all OK, power everything off including the Cable Modem and leave it for 5 minutes or so. Connect the cable between the Modem and the PC, power on the Cable Modem and when fully booted with all lights displayed, boot the PC.
The PC gets its IP and other addresses automatically from the Cable Modem so there is nothing to configure in the PC.
Ok let go through the set up slowly
I am assuming that you install all the drivers for your motherboard, Lan card, Chipset, Display,
Audio, Wireless card if installed etc
If not check the CD that came with the computer for the drivers, if no CD check the manufacture

Download all the drivers listed and burn to a CD for future use
If not sure on the hardware in the computer download the following program it will tell all about
