I am re-installing Win XP Pro. I want to boot into the XP Setup CD on startup and then re-format the hard-disk before re-installing XP. However, the PC won't boot into the CD (boot sequence is correct). What's the best alternative for re-formatting the disk and re-installing XP?

Thanks.

You can try downloading the boot up floppies from microsoft (6 in total i think), and boot your computer using them

Have you tried popping your CD in and browsing for setup

PS It may be a problem with your CD or DVD drive

I use Secure Erase 8 to format my drive and then the XP re-installs easily.

I have one on floppy if you contact me privately.

If you have a floppy drive put in a W98 or WME floppy on boot choose without CDRom support type in FDISK and delete the none dos partition put your WXP Pro disk in and reinstall.
