Hello.

Could anyone please tell me how/if it is possible to install Win XP (Professional) from DOS.

I want to reformat my hard drive but I have never been able to load setup in DOS.

Before I've had to reinstall Win Me and then install XP over that but I've lost me Me disk.

I think I remember reading a solution in a quite recent PC Advisor but I can't find the letter in any magazine I've kept.

Thanks for any help.

You don't need to install from DOS - you can install directly from the XP CD. Simply set your system to boot from the CD, and follow the on-screen.

ckeating, I don't use XP, but I'm fairly sure that once you have formatted your drive then XP will load from the CD, as long as you have Your CD drive set to first bootable disk in BIOS, rather than floppy.
