Win XP home/Direct X Problems

On my dual boot system, DX Diag works perfectly with Win 98 SE [both DX 8 and DX 9]including the network tab. However, with Win XP, DX Diag has a problem with both DX versions when the "Network" Tab is selected. With DX 8, Dx Diag loads ok but when I select "Test Direct Play", my computer freezes and I need to do a manual reset. With DX 9, when a I select the Network tab,I get a message to say that DX Diag is collecting Directplay information. At this stage, the comp again freezes and a manual reset is the only option. I have had the system running for over 8 months with no other problems [although this is the first time that I have investigated Directplay.

V grateful for any suggestions.

Unless you need to make use of direct play you can ignore the errors, as they will not affect the normal operation of the computer.
