Win XP Home ED boot problem

PC won't boot. I'm getting this message :

'We apologise for the inconvenience but windos did not start successfully...A recent hardware or software change may have caused this'
To my knowlege there have been no changes made to any hardware or software applications or configurations.

Have tried to boot from boot disc..Computer says no.
Have tried to boot from F8 into Safe mode..Computer says no.
Have tried F10 for access to partial factory restore..Computer says no.

Any sugestions guys and gals.

Having just had a problem myself where the cause could easily have been a bad connection, it may be worth your while checking that all your hardware is connected properly.

Other than that it`s over to those with more knowledge tham me.

Try this, Remove all cards exept Graphics and any External Hardware, you could also try with one stick memory to try it. Then try a boot
