win XP file backup with CDRW

I back up my files onto CDRW's using the built in WIN XP software. Trouble is it wont let me delete individual files when I want to replace them with an updated file, it tells me that the file is read only and cannot be deleted. It will however let me delete the whole disc. How can I delete individual files?

By getting a proper burning proggie like nero would be my guess.

has anyone else had problems with this

I don't think you can! - If I back up to CDRW using the XP cd writer I always delete the whole CD and then select all the files I want to back up again.

I assum that you mean in the same fashion as you would with a floppy?

No you can't, all you can do is either add new files if you have room at the end of the last burning, or completley reformat the whole disk.

sadly Nero or other burning program will not change this, it's the way the media works.
