Win XP Boot up niggle

  iscanut2 08:51 10 Oct 03

Now and again on boot up I get a message saying the "lsass.exe has failed to initialise, click OK to proceed ". The system does not respond and screen is blank. Have to do a reboot which is then normally OK. lsass.exe appears in the list of items on start up, assigned to SYSTEM. Can anyone tell me what this is or what the problem might be ?
