Win 98SE Programs Menu listing

I have two PCs both running Win 98SE. When I click on the start button and go to 'Programs' the listing on one machine is a scrolling list and on the other is in three column format. The two systems are set up identically.
What causes this and how can I switch between the two modes?
Microsoft Knowledge Base only mentions the difference in connection with Windows Me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try right-clicking on a blank area of the task bar and choosing properties from the contxt menu. Click on the 'advanced' tab, and look for a setting which says 'Scroll the program menu'.

To faintly curious and MAJ
Thanks for your help. Clicking on the task bar was worth trying but didn't actually cut it. However, the 'Cheap Trick' did it.
Once again, my thanks!
Whirligig.
