Win 98 re-install problem

  FCD 19:20 18 Apr 04

I have a dual boot W98/Win XP system. Following a Mobo/CPU upgrade I have had to re-install my OS. When I re-installed Win 98, I found the following message every time Win 98 loads

"EMM 386 not installed ...............
Press any key to continue"

Win 98 then loads as normal.

I recall EMM386 discussions in the early windows days but cannot recall what it means

So very grateful for any help
