I have just wiped my slave HDD,formatted it and tried to load Win 7, it will not load, I get the Dos screen with " boot from CD press any key" but I get no response. the HDD is present in my computer also device manager,. I have tried changing the boot sequence within the Bios to ist boot CD rom, still no joy.I have also disconnected the primary C drive made the slave the primary just for loading purposes again no joy.
advice please.
End result hopefully, two O/S's one on each drive XP-Win 7 using boot manager

Try installing it from within XP. At the start of the install process, choose the Custom (Advanced) option & make sure to choose the correct drive/partition. G

Thanks my friend that worked fine I have also discovered that win 7 contains a boot manager and it even works when XP is my primary boot so I can do away with the 3rd party boot manager I was using before.
live long and prosper!!

Yes, forgot to mention that Win7 automatically installs a boot manager when another OS is installed before it.

I used this guide click here to edit Win7's boot manager so that XP loads first. G
