Win 7

I have purchased Windows 7 Home Premium (full version) and want to install it on one of two partitions on my HDD. Both partitions, each of which is approximately 500Gb, is running XP Professional (SP2).

I changed the BIOS to boot from the DVD, started the PC. Win 7 starts to load then freezes at the `Starting Windows` stage. A website suggested that this might be a USB compatibility problem, so I removed all USB connections, disabled USB functions in BIOS and replaced my wireless keyboard and mouse with the old PS versions.

Same result – freeze-up.

I tried to run it from within XP as suggested on the DVD instructions. This time I was informed the there was insufficient disk space to complete installation – Win 7 requires only 16 GB for insatallation.

Your comments would be appreciated
