I run duel boot- XP Pro and 2k. Recently my 2K wont boot up and I get the BSOD...

XP works fine. I assume therefor its a s/w problem. Can I repair this using the 2K CD? Will it automatically detect 2K over XP Pro?

Also, If I decide to reinstall can I run duel boot, both XP with just one XP CD?

Also, can I simplu format the drive 2K is ok... will it still boot up OK or will it try and find 2k?

if you format the Win 2k drive then you can re-install it, to totally get rid of it you have to FDISK the partition. Why don't you try and repair the MBR file and see if this gets it going!

surly the MBR file would not be the culprit as it opens the win 2k splash screen and then goes to the BSOD.

The note that comes up is:

Any idead?

Just rebooted.

2K started up fine.... only difference between last attempt was that I unplugged my MP3 Player...
