My friend has a no start problem and does not have the 4 discs which seem to be necessary for a startup, neither a programme disc.
On switch on, a message appears; The following file is missing or corrupted c:\windows\ifshlp.sys
then c:\windows\system\vmm32.vxd.
I can't get it to start in Safe mode and after sitting looking at the screen it switches off and then goes through it all again.
I have found the messages in ms support but could not understand the solution.

W2000 only has one disk i think your talking about the 4 floppy disks you download these but sorry you will require the W2000 disk not floppys to repair your problem.

pk46..... Thanks for your response, I thought the 2000 pro needed 4 floppies as start up discs and once started, desktop would appear and I would be away, but it appears that's not the case.

Thanks anyway! Trop.
