Win 2000 install problem in MSDOS

It's my first time setting window up.

I have formatted drive C: and I have bootable disk that will enable me to boot with cd-rom support.
I have win 2000 CD, when I type E:\setup and it won't as it say that this program cannot run in DOS mode.

What should I do?

Don't type E:\setup, re-boot PC and at the DOS promt insert CD into drive and type, SETUP nothing else, I think it should work form there.

Is your cd drive definitely E:\ ?

When you boot the PC, what does it say on screen before you put the CD in, what sort of prompt do you have ?

It is Windows Startup Menu...There is choice of 4 there so i used 'start computer with cd support'...

CD drive is definitely E:\ and I typed like this E:\setup like that...

Also you could try booting up off the win2k cd and not the startup floppy ...

Also try the word, INSTALL instead of SETUP!

PS. also try both SETUP or INSTALL but put win2000 in as well.
