Will a Radeon 7200 4xAGP fit new Asus a7n8x-x AGP x8?
I am about to rebuild my PC.
Motherboard Asus A7N8X-X Socket A nforce 2 agp x8 DDR 400.
AMD retail Athlon XP 2400 +
Maxtor Diamondplus9 80GB HD
512mb PC2700 DDR memory.

I was going to use my old 64mb radeon 7200 which is 2x/4x AGP. Is the Asus a universal AGP slot that is back compatable for old 4x cards?
I did not want to change the card yet as it is OK.

Hi dave-jens. Assuming that the agp on the a7n8x-x is similar to that on the a7v8x-x, then the agp socket will only accept 1.5V agp click here. Have a look at the link and you will see the difference between 1.5V agp and the older type. If you are in doubt about the Asus a7n8x-x, you should be able to download the manual from click here.

Thanks gongoozler, your a star. That site explained it for me. It will fit OK. It is a 2.0 x4 AGP card at 1.5v so it will be fine . Thanks.
