I have a MSI (Microstar) Motherboard (MS-6577) with a 2.66 Processor on it. It is a "845G". I was wondering If I could just upgrade to one of these 3.06 gig processors - or is there something else I need to add? - becasue on the Intel site click here
Its says THIS at the bottum (regarding my 845G) MOBO:

/////** The B-1 Stepping of the 845G Chipset is required to support Hyper-Threading Technology.////

Can anyone shed any light on this please, as I'm not sure at all what this means (hope it doesn't involve anything that resembles a soldering Iron - or Even worse - lots of cash!!!;)) b1 stepping is something i've not Really hears of - but rings a bell..

My computer is a Hewlett Packard 434.uk by the way (Pc world)
