Will I be forced onto WLM 2010?

I'm happy and content with Windows Live Messenger 2009.

I recently gave the beta for Windows Live Messenger 2010 a go... and while it's still a beta, the overall idea of it is too overwhelming for my own personal taste.

Facebook integration, myspace intergration... it's just too overwhelming... it's as if they're trying to do too much with it.

There's a button to simplify the interface... but it's too glitchy at this present time.

Also the exclusion of custom names really annoys me; you can only use your real name.

What I'm aiming to find out, is will I be forced onto this new version of messenger when the final release arises?

If it does, I will be switching to aMSN.

Thanks in advance.

The theory behind new versions is that they are an improvement on the previous one. Mostly they are, but I agree with you that they are not always.

Anyway, to answer your question, you will not be forced to upgrade to the 2010 version.
