Wil changing the motherboard affect anything

I have got a newer motherboard than the one installed currently.if i decide to change them over will i just have to reinstall the new drivers in windows or format the whole hard drive. Thanks

You just might get away with it especially if the chipset is similar, but more likely your system will be very unstable with frequent crashes. So back up everything important and be prepared for a reformat and reinstall.

If your current MB is OK why bother? There will be little change in performance.
