WiFi...Any recommendations?

Hey i'm thinking about buying a Wireless router but i don't really know which one to buy, i also need to connect another desktop pc and a laptop.
The main pc runs Windows XP Home, 256MB mem, 2.4Ghz.
The laptop is the same except it is 1Ghz.
The other pc is going to be upgraded i don't know what spec yet but definately to XP. Currently it runs on M.E, 128MB Memory and 900Mhz. (how crap lol). I'd obviously need to buy a WiFi card for the laptop and i think a USB 2.0 Adapter for the other PC. Could anyone recommend any product? Blueyonder (my isp @ 512kb/s) recommends Netgear. I'd also like to know if the shared pcs would also run as fast as if there was only the one pc. Lastly, can the laptop and the desktop access broadband at the same time? Thanks very much for any help and for taking the time to read all that lol.
