WiFi and printing

Does anyone know if I can connect a Printer directly to a router, e.g. via USB, and then print from a PC/laptop that is connected via WiFi to the router?

My objective is to be able to print from anywhere in the house, without being physically connected to the Printer

You need a printer with an RJ45 port on it or a JetDirect box of some sort - however make sure your printer is compatible.

You will need to have a print server somewhere in the setup. You can buy network printers which will have a built in print server, or you can buy a router with a built in print server, or you could by a new print server. Much simpler would be to have an 'always-on' desktop and conect the printer to that and then share it so the other computers in the group can access it.
