I have a Samsung 226BW widescreen monitor and a Radeon 9800 Pro Graphics Card. The max resolution on the monitor is 1680 x 1200 but if I set it up to the maximum the screen is not filled. I can set it up to 1024 x 768 and then screen is filled. Any advise on how I can set it up to a higher resolution would be appreciated......Dave R.

You need a display card that will give display 1680x1050 resolution not many about, you will have to search for one

The 9800 pro definatly should be capable of it click here thats the specs of it.
It must the widescreen part of it thats causing the problem. I know from what others have said the widescreen monitors leave a bar each side when what they are trying to display is not widescreen and this is normal.
What I don't know is how to stretch the image so it appears full screen, and even if you do it would it not look somewhat odd?

This is one of the reasons I have been hesitant to buy a widescreen monitor, it would be great for games though.

I use my 9800 Pro with a Belinea monitor @ 1680 x 1050 and it runs fine. It even manages most older games at that res. :)
