Widescreen Mode in Windows ME?

Hey there - newbie to the forums here!

Did a search for "widescreen" but nothing appeared.

I recently got an LG RZ17 W/S monitor and was wondering if there's any way of setting Windows ME to W/S mode?

I've looked in display settings to no avail - some resolutions (1152x768 or summink) DO look a bit better, but it's not true widescreen and the text is way too small for my old eyes, and 800x480 just looks rough with no way of me being able to resolve it via the monitor's options. I really want 800x600 size, but in WS...if that makes sense(!)

I've got a Geforce 2 GTS Pro and I've looked in gfx card utils and can't see anything.

Any advice please guys?

Many thanks.

Hi juz,

my graphics card has 848x480, which is nearer the 16:9 ratio of your screen, than 800x600.

perhaps you have this setting to? although i do have a different graphics card.

most resolutions work out as 4:3, divide 4 by 3 and you get 1.333, divide 800 by 600 you get 1.333,

you need a resolution that matches 16:9, when divided is 1.777, and 848 divided by 480 is 1.766.

perhaps come back with the list of different resolutions displayed by your card.
