Wide screen 1400 by 900 resolution problem.

I currently have an Nvidia geforce 7800 GS graphics card and using an old crt monitor. I'm thinking of buying a Samsung SM940BW wide screen monitor which has a max resolution of 1440 by 900 / 75 Hz. The problem I have is in my display settings I do not have a 1440 by 900 resolution setting only 1360 by 768 or 1600 by 900 .

I would be grateful for any advice .

When you connect your new monitor, and it is detected by Windows and your graphics drivers, the widescreen resolutions will made available. They are not available at the moment because your current monitor will not support them, you should not have a problem.
