In which case I don't know how to get around it.

My wireless receiver stays on if it were on when the PC shuts down so when booted up the connection comes on straight away.

I can turn mine on and off by clicking enable radio on the taskbar.If left on,it will be on upon next bootup and search for the connection.
If yours is being turned off automatically,i would check for Viruses/Malware/Spyware etc first.

What type of wireless are you using,mine is Intelproset wireless,look in all programs,this may give us something to go on to help you configure the settings.
