Wi Fi Speeds and Broadband Speeds ?

  ruskle 12:10 15 Aug 05

I don't know if I am missing something but as my broadband speed is 1Mb why is it important to have my Wi Fi laptop uprated to 802.11 g from 802.11 b which I assume runs at 11Mb and shows as this on the Utility panel.
I was quite happy with it but have been reading Wi Fi forums and it got my thinking I was still in the datk ages.
Cheers, Russell (silver surfer) well pink on top actually. hi.

it will not change your internet speed as it is only reference to wireless speed to pc and i suspect you will not notice any appreciable difference.

Don't be misled by a lot of hype. Remember, lots of people upgrade and otherwise mess around with their machines just for the sake of doing it.

If your system works that way you want it to, ignore all of these speed merchants and such like.

Compared to a CD rewriter burning files to a disk at, say, 16x, broadband speeds are pretty slow....:-)
