Wi-fi security on laptop

Colleague has a desktop pc connected with braoadband. Now has a laptop which has also connected wirelessly to his broadband connection. Does he have to have his laptop enabled with it's own virus software or is it covered by the desktop pc. Thanks

It's not covered by the PC's antivirus protection, the laptop needs it's own.

I thought he would to but he says that he can see a Norton phishing enabled on on his laptop!! Norton is installed on the desktop pc.

May have come pre-loaded as a trial version. Needs anti-virus and anti malware (advice from Skidzy click here). Also needs WEP or WAP enabled on the laptop.
