Wi-Fi problem (not starting?) Dell 6400 Laptop

Hello all.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 which until now has connected wirelessly to my broadband connection without a problem. However now it doesn't!
I have noticed in the past that there is a little "Wi-Fi" icon that lights up... this no longer lights up!
I assume this is the problem?
Does anybody know what could have happened and how I could try to fix this?
Thanks in advance for any help & advice.

Having the same problem with my grandaughters laptop and just wondering if it could be anything to do with the latest Microsoft updates for Nvidia.Only guessing as it happened about the same time as I downloaded them.It Should have nothing to do with wireless though.should it.

not sure about that but nothing would surprise me! i don't know when last windows update was installed but sure it was recently so you may possibly have a point... perhaps somebody can advise further. Can the updates be reversed?

VoG... sorry I missed your post... but thank you! Fn + F2 did the trick... I've had the laptop for over 3 years and never knew (until now!) about the "Fn" keys!! Thank you so much.

Buteman... it's that easy!
