Wi Fi Extender

We've just set up a WiFi system in the local community which is basically an old stone built Barn. I need to boost the WiFi signal to reach the farthest rooms, and am looking to see if there are any Wi-Fi extenders which do not need to be hard-wired into the basic router. Does anyone know of an extender which is truely WiFi?

Your community is a barn? Sorry I don't understand, melvyn. Explain your setup and we might be able to help further,

Oops - What I should have said was that our Community centre works in an old Barn building with thick stone walls,. and whilst our Wi-Fi router is at one end of teh Barn, one of our PCs is at the other end with stone walls in between. I do not want to have a wire trailing the 30 yards so was looking to see if booster wi-fi units are truely wi-fi or do they need to have the input signal from a hard wire connection
