Why won't my Laptop access our wireless network?

  tolly2 18:09 10 Jan 05

I have just installed my new Dlink DI524 router.

It is successfully connected to my NTL cable modem (750K)

My PC (Win XP Home, 1.8 Gig, 512 Mb RAM, 120 Gig HDD) has been successfully connected via the LAN port. IE works fine as does Outlook Express.

My Daughters Laptop has a Dlink DWL-G630 wireless pc card installed.
It seemed to install OK, and the icon in the tray shows that it can recognise the wireless network signal.

Internet Explorer just comes up with the 'this page cannot be displayed' message.

Both the PC and the Laptop only show themselves in the workgroup despite having the same workgroup name.

I'm new to this network stuff so any help will be gratefully received.

Thanks, tolly
