os Win XP Pro Mobo MSI KM4M-V AMD XP2800+

Just bought and installed the above Mobo with 512MB PC2700 DDR memory. When i check from 'My Computer' properties, it shows there is only 448BM of RAM instead of the installed 512MB. 64MB has disappeared.

Does anyone know why? Could it be the 64MB has been eaten up by the Mobo's integrated graphic?

Yep that is the reason.

As you thought, your on-board graphics has been allocated 64MB of your RAM and this accounts for the 64meg deficit in your systems total.

Thanks guys.

Had i known this i wouldn't have bought this mobo.

You can probably change the amount allocated to the graphics in the bios, or if you have a graphics card, install that and disable the on board altogether.

If you are not using the onboard grahics then disable it in the bios this will free up the ram.
