Why not enough RAM?

  edennorman 09:28 07 May 04

I just tried to save a large image (494mb) in photoshop and was informed that I didnt have enough RAM so it couldnt save it....in the event I reduced the size of the image to 250mb and it saved with no problem....the thing is I have over 1000mb of memory fitted to this system....or is photoshop refering to something else, or then again maybe the image was just too big, even with 1000mb of memory?

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Thank you.

You may need to set the "scratch file" to something higher than it is at the moment - I ca't remember offhand how this is done but look under the help menu.
