Why is my printer is not printing properly?

My printer is only printing certain lines on the page, i.e. in a printed page of text it is missing horizontal lines out. These do not correspond to particular lines of print - they just look like gaps. Almost like when you're painting a wall with a roller and the paint is not evenly distributed on the entire surface of the roller. Does anyone know what I mean and what I need to do to fix it?? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Firstly, a word of advice. Do not ever use your email address as your login name. You might invite all sorts of unwanted emails ! Change your user name to something else. Secondly, we would like to know your printer model and also your operating system.

Run the 'clean print head' cycle on your printer, one or more nozzles may be blocked.
