Why does Windows update take so long?

  crespo 00:34 12 May 07

Hiya this is Crespo here needing some advice. After i log off on my laptop i get the message on Windows Update installing 1 of 1.Do not unplug your computer will shut down automatically.I let it just work away but i had to go away & came back to it 90 minutes later & the download was still going on.
Is this normal for Windows update as i haven't had an update go on so long.Or is this particular update a big one?Any advice will be v appreciated.Cheers, C.

No it's not normal, Do a System Restore to a time before it was downloaded. Then go to Control Panel > Security Centre > Security Updates and set it to download the updates but ask you when to install. When the update arrives again, havea look at it and see which update it is, it has probably been corrupted in download.
