Recently I have the box appear during boot-up asking me to enter my password to log on to windows. It never used to. I have windows 2000. Can I switch it off, and, if so, how? Thanks.

Have you, by any chance, installed '.NET FRAMEWORK' recently?

tweakui, will allow you to bypass the login screen.

I have no idea what .NET FRAMEWORK is iambeavis. I have now downloaded tweakui and set it to enter my logon details automatically so I'll let you know tomorrow when I switch on again. Thanks anyway folks.
