Which Wireless Network Adapter SPEED please?

I want to get a USB wireless network adapter to connect my laptop to my Wanadoo(now Orange) Wireless router.

The laptop is a Toshiba P4 running Win XP.
I've tried to connect the laptops built-in wireless without any success, even after spending considerable time on the orange helpline.

I think a USB wireless adapter is worth a try.
The Orange shop only sells this one: click here
for £25 but I'd rather buy one for half that price from most online stores.
Amazon sells the same one for only £7.95! click here

Problem is I don't now if I should buy a 54mbps when there are 108mbps and 125mbps adapters available for roughly the same price?

I'm guessing that I probably won't be able to run faster than 54mbps, making higher adapters pointless? I can't find any mbps speed info on the router from anywhere?

My shortlist is:
54mbps click here
108mbps click here
125 mbps click here

(Or the LM Tech from Amazon!)

54mbps should be fine and ample.

Though personally i would look into why your wireless card is not working....can we help on that ?

Got to be better than a usb wireless dongle sticking out of the lappy.
