Which Router please?

I run a desktop which uses WinXP pro and has Wanadoo broadband.
My wife has a Toshiba 490CDT notebook which is also running WinXP pro. It has enough memory to run broadband but I am not sure what sort of networking connections I would need.
I have been told that a Belkin 54mbps router and wireless 54mbps net card would do the trick.
Can anyone advise me please if that is true and would I need anything else? Also where is the best (read cheapest) place to go.
I would ask any helpers if they could keep the advise simple please.

Thank you

To get the best then a wireless router wired to your desktop and a wireless PC Card for the laptop would do the job.

Something from here is usually good value click here&
