Which Printer?

  Solartopi 14:56 16 Jun 06

Hi there,

I have been using Lexmark printers for as long as I have been working with PCs and that's a long time.

Lexmark printers are very cheap but their cartridges are so expensive these days. I do refill my cartridges but still buying them when needed is ridiculously pricey.

Can any one tell me what printer to buy that will be cheaper to run.

The Epson R series are good. I have an Epson R220, 6 individual cartridges. Compatibles from Choice Stationery click here

Can get compatible ink from other suppliers cheaper but I prefer Choice.

I have now (not long ago) fitted a CIS (Continuous Ink System) to this printer. Has six 100ml ink bottles, equivalent to 7 cartridge changes for each colour. Top up 100ml bottles cost £11.95 for all six.
