which photo printer

I am in 3 minds on which printer to go for either, a. epson r300, b. canon i865, or c. canon i965
i presently own an epson 830u and epson 1290 photo. the 830u has recently been playing up poor printout paper jamming and so on when working I get good print outs. The requirements I need for printing are 1. very good photo printouts 2. good black definition on transpanrencies (i do a lot of pcb work no banding) 3. gerneral purpose text (web documents etc..) and finally printing onto CDs
I have read reviews of the above printers but would like some input from people who actually use these machines what do you think and any thoughts. I realise that there is a big price hike from a/b to c but have read that the photo quality is worth the extra
thanks for your opinions

The canon i865 and 965 are based on the same "engine" and although printouts are quicker on the 965 I don't believe there is sufficient difference in quality to justify the extra cost.

Although I have used the above printers at work I personally preferred the epson r300 when it came to buying myself a photoquality printer.Running costs are pretty good especially with high quality compatible cartrdiges available from amongst others choice

The r300 must be good even gandalf ...who would appear to be very difficult to satisfy ...likes it and recommends it

I use the R300 and it's output is excellent. Used to have an 895 but it self destructed. The colour quality is very good. I use epson carts and when they say they are empty I reprogram them and usually get a further 25% use before they run out.
