I have an Athlon 2400 with 2Gb ram (not shared)This runs PS CS2 perfectly ok. However it's a little tardy when running the Adobe "Lightroom" beta.

Adobe recommend 384Mb ram, but take it from me if you edit large files using layers, then 1Gb is not enough.

Also you need to consider a decent monitor. I know of several photoshoppers that use the Dell UltraSharp™ 2007WFP 20.1" Widescreen LCD @ £303.27 and are highly delighted with the performance.

I use the Formac Gallery Xtreme 2010 20.1" TFT 8ms 700:1 (1600x1200) (DVI) Monitor. A little dearer but again an excellent monitor for image editing £328
