Which laptop?

I am considering buying a laptop and can't decide which to go for between this offered at Toys R Us click here and this on sale at Aldi a couple of weeks ago (my local Aldi still have some) click here see post by Andrew P.

The T.R.U. Medion is widescreen, comes with the BT Voyager 2100 Wireless Router which is worth around £100, but only has 12 months warranty (also I could get this on 12 month interest free). Whereas the Gericom which is £100 dearer, has a bigger hard drive, a 2 year warranty
and longer battery life.

Would anyone be kind enough to offer an opinion?

Reasons (only personal view):

(1) Faster and new processor, not easy to upgrade if you want to, so better to get faster one

(2) Big HDD, can be easily upgrded, but extra cost.

(3) Most important one: Good graphics (ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128MB), excellent for game. For a laptop, this is something you CANNOT update.

(4) The weight of ToysRUs one is too heavy (3.2kg) for a centrio laptop, do not the weight of Aldi one

As for Wireless Router/Modem, you can get a better one at low costs, e.g.

I was leaning towards the Gericom but I always tend to go for the more expensive option for some reason.

There is no doubt that it is a good price for the spec but my only concern is how reliable it would be. I have read of problems with them and don't want to fork out that much if it's gonna die on me just outside the warranty period.

It will take me a couple of days to gather the funds (why don't they take credit cards!) so I will make my decision then.

Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it.
